The Little Community With A Future
In The Heart Of The Cascades
Chemult is a small, friendly community located in scenic Central Oregon, on Highway 97N, just 30 miles from the north entrance to Crater Lake National Park. We find ourselves fortunate to live in such a magnificent outdoor recreation area.
Chemult is a convenient place to stay as you enjoy the variety of activities available year round. Amtrak stops here twice daily (headed north in the morning and south in the evening) and is a convenient and scenic way to travel to and from Chemult.
The summers bring us an abundance of sunshine in which to enjoy the wide variety of outdoor recreational opportunities such as hiking, biking, bird watching, camping, boating, fishing, hunting, & exploring the Volcanic Legacy lands which surround us. Our closest campground, Digit Point, is located on beautiful Miller Lake just 12 miles west of Chemult. For more info about Digit Point see http://www.forestcamping.com/dow/pacficnw/wininfo.htm
Summer also brings Chemult Mountain Days, a family friendly festival held each July. Join us here among the beautiful pines for the next Chemult Mountain Days.
Our special theme for next year's Chemult Mountain Days is "90 YEARS OF MEMORIES" as we celebrate the 90th anniversary of the community of Chemult as part of Mountain Days on July 15 - 17, 2016. Everyone is invited to join our Chemult family for a special weekend of fun, food, and most importantly friendship & fellowship!
Please check the Chemult Mountain Days link on the right hand sidebar or the Chemult Mountain Days Facebook page for updates throughout the year.
The winters bring lots of snow to play in. Snowmobiling, cross country skiing, snowshoeing, and dog sledding can’t be beat on our freshly groomed trails which meander through the forests to Crater Lake National Park, Crescent-O’Dell Lakes, Diamond Lake, and our very own Miller Lake.
For more information on the 2016 Chemult dog sled races check out www.sleddogchemult.org.
Check out our Recreational Activities on the sidebar for snowmobiling information.
